Selecting and editing shapes

Move, turn, resize, reshape, cut holes and set the sewing order.

Selecting

  • Click a shape to select it. Shift+click adds or removes one.
  • Drag a box on empty canvas to select everything it touches. Ctrl+A selects all drawn shapes.
  • Clicking a shape of auto-digitized artwork opens its settings instead (see Images).

Moving, turning, resizing

  • Drag to move. Arrow keys nudge 0.5 mm, Shift+arrow 5 mm.
  • Drag the round handle above the selection to turn it (Ctrl for 15° steps).
  • Type a width or height in the size box at the top; the lock keeps the proportions. The two buttons next to it flip.

Shape actions

The card on the left has buttons for the selected shape:

  • Edit points: drag points; click the outline to add one (right-click for a curved one); double-click a point to make it curved or straight; Delete removes it; Enter when done.
  • Cut a hole: click points inside a filled shape, then Enter.
  • Start and end points: click where sewing should start, then where it should end.
  • Fill direction: drag around the shape to set the angle of the rows.
  • Lock, Duplicate and Delete.

Right-click menu

Copy, cut, paste, duplicate, sew first or last, lock, edit points and delete. Ctrl+C, Ctrl+X, Ctrl+V and Ctrl+D work too.

Sewing order

The Shapes panel lists drawn shapes, text and opened files in the order they are sewn. Use the arrows to move one earlier or later. Shapes of the same colour sewn one after another need no thread change.
