Getting started

From a logo to a machine file in a few minutes.

EmbroidGen turns a picture into an embroidery file your machine can sew, and lets you draw, add text and adjust every shape before you download.

  1. Open the studio and drop your logo on the canvas, or click Choose image. PNG, JPG, WEBP and SVG work.
  2. The picture is placed as large as fits your hoop. Move it or resize it from its corners or the size box at the top.
  3. Click Auto-digitize. The stitches appear on top of the picture, which fades so you can see them.
  4. Look at the quality grade (top right). Click it to see what to improve; many problems have a one-click fix.
  5. Pick your machine's file format and click Export. You need a free account to download: the free plan includes 3 downloads a month.

Tip: Flat-colour logos give the cleanest stitches. Photos and gradients are simplified into a few thread colours.

No logo? Start with Start with text, draw your own shapes with the tools at the bottom, or open a machine file (DST, PES and others) to change it.
