Stitch types and fills
Outlines, satin, E-stitch, rope, and eight fill patterns.
Outlines
| Run type | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Single run | Fine lines and details; quick to sew. |
| Triple run (bean) | Bold lines that stand out; three passes on the same line. |
| Satin | Smooth, shiny borders and strokes, 1 to 8 mm wide. |
| E-stitch (blanket) | Edges of appliqué and patches. |
| Rope | A twisted, raised line. |
Fills
A closed shape can be Filled. Choose the pattern: Tatami (the classic), Aligned rows, Triangle, Zig-zag, Waves, Contour, Circles or Spiral. Then set the fill angle, the row spacing (smaller is denser), the stitch length and whether it has underlay.
Tip: Underlay is a first layer of stitches under the fill that holds the fabric flat. Leave it on unless the area is tiny.
Settings for the whole design
In Size and stitches, pick your fabric (it sets sensible density, pull compensation and underlay), and fine-tune the fill density, stitch length, satin spacing, pull compensation and the widest shape that is still sewn in satin.
